The origin of the sea salon Triton Submarines is a company that designs and manufactures private submarines, founded in 2007. The owner of this company is called Patrick Lahey (Patrick Haye), a person who loves diving very much. He was born in Sebastian, Florida, USA, and his home is near the sea. For this reason, his father taught him swimming, diving and other sports since he was a child, and Patrick learned this skill well and loved marine animals, marine plants, and marine landscapes.

 However, a person’s diving always has a limitation of strength, and one can no longer further dive after reaching a certain depth. Generally, normal casual diving is limited to a maximum depth of 40 meters; when wearing a general diving suit, the maximum depth is 450m; when wearing an atmospheric suit, the maximum depth that can be 610 meters. But you won’t be able to see deeper ocean scenery if you can’t continue diving. For this reason, Patrick started to create a company and build personal super submarines for some people who want to see the natural scenery of the ocean.

The Sea Salon is actually not the first super personal submarine that can dive to 1000m. There is a first version before it, and the Sea Salon is actually the second version. The first version of the yacht is called Triton Submarine Triton. Its diving depth has reached 1000m, but it only allows one person to sit on it, which is not cost-effective for users with a family. After all, this high-tech product is definitely not suitable and safe for an underage children to operate. Therefore,Triton Submarines upgraded it to the second version of "Undersea Salon" .

The price of the sea salon

In fact, for submarines, the depth of 1000m is not high, or even low. But the Undersea Salon is the first personal submersible in the world with the largest capacity in acrylic shell. In many countries, the purchase price of submarines is basically calculated in units of 100 million yuan (RMB), but the price of submarine salons is relatively low, starting at only 5.5 million US dollars (about 35 million yuan). So why is it so cheap?

Because its material is acrylic, this material is not only light in weight, relatively low in price, but also with good pressure resistant. So Triton Submarines applied it to the hull to create a spherical acrylic pressure hull. By the way, because the submarines produced by the company are generally spherical transparent cabins, the seabed salon is also a circular transparent cabin. Its internal diameter is about 2.5 meters, with a total of 2 rows and 6 positions, and one position can be divided into about 0.4 meters. The outer diameter reaches 4.5 meters, and the weight is 11,000 kg.

And the submarine salon is equipped with enough air and batteries to allow people to dive under the ocean for more than 10 hours, and during these diving hours, you can drive the submarine around and observe the wonderful submarine scenery. The submarine salon has four thrusters, two main thrusters and two auxiliary thrusters. Their respective peak powers can reach 12.5KW, which enable people to experience the feeling of flying a plane under the sea.

But it is a pity that this type of submarine is basically not leased. It is a one-time sale and guarantees lifetime maintenance. Of course, this kind of maintenance is not free. Once the warranty date expired, you will need to pay an additional maintenance fee every year to get the on-site maintenance service. If you suspend ordering this service but need repairs, the repair fee paid separately will be about 10 times of the usual amount.

But people who can afford this private submarine don't lack the money, and even many buyers don't care about the price. Patrick said: “No one owned a helicopter 15 years ago. Now almost everyone owns one. Deep-sea submersibles are the next big thing, so customers’ expectations are high, but they never really asked about submarines’ price, it makes me very happy." After all, the research cost for a new type of submarine is at least several billion. If the research cost can be covered and it is profitable, then all companies should be happy.

But when the wealthy and celebrities use the "Undersea Salon" to explore the unknown scenery of the ocean space in the future vacation, ordinary people can only sigh and envy through the screen.
